Desert Half - July 11 RSS

Okay,

Now that we have had three days to recover and reflect since Oliver, who's in for the Desert? I see 3 registered so far. I am seriously considering it.

John and I are staying at the Avalon Inn which is on Main Street (downtown) in Osoyoos.

In addition to long rides on Mountain passes (Bombi, Pulson, Kootenay, Strawberry, etc.) After warming up, I ride down Granite Road and up Bedford road, then down Bedford and up Granite and on and on... (3-4 times. Just a suggestions.)

  • Comment by speedymikey on 06/10/2010 at 09:58h We are staying at Inkameep campsite on the Sat night.
  • Comment by jonah on 06/09/2010 at 23:40h what campsite are you staying at Mike?
  • Comment by lvissers on 06/09/2010 at 16:06h Already signed up, figured I should do it before Oliver and really commit to it :-). Haven't booked accomodation yet, where are others staying.

As for riding I'm hoping the hilly rides around here (Ymir/Bombi) will be enough - even riding up Granite road, both directions. Any other thoughts - I've never ridden up Richter pass, so I'm not entirely sure myself. I'm hoping the run isn't too hilly after how my legs/knees felt on sunday. Let me know if anyone wants a cycling or running partner.
  • Comment by Allison Schlosser on 06/09/2010 at 14:02h I have registered! A little worried about the bike portion...any recommendations for riding in this area that is similar?
  • Comment by speedymikey on 06/09/2010 at 13:29h I am in, just a little slow to register. We already have our campsite booked.
